Within the framework of this work, soils and plants of the Uvelsky, Troitsky and Chesmensky districts of the Chelyabinsk region were studied. The selenium content in soil and plant samples was analyzed using inductively coupled plasma spectrometry. The data obtained indicate that the selenium content in the soil-plant system in the Chelyabinsk region is influenced by various factors, including soil type, groundwater availability and the use of chemical fertilizers. The study recommends further research to develop effective strategies for regulating selenium levels in the environment and improving human health.
