Ecological tourism is intensively developing now, even in protected natural areas, thus regulation of recreation is one of the most important tasks for protected areas. The paper analyzes the impact of recreants on bog, forest and meadow plant communities, as well as on the avifauna of the area. The ecological trail on the territory of the Rdeisky nature reserve (Novgorod region) was taken as a model object. The authors conclude that the amount of up to 200 visitors per year is safe for a bog whereas for forest parts it is only up to 150 people per year.
