The article discusses the pattern of the soil cover in the southern part of Numto Nature Park. It examines the composition of soil cover and distribution of its components in landscape. Wetland area is covered mainly by oligotrophic bog peat-gley and peat soils, including frozen units. Eutrophic fen peat soils and alluvial peat and peat-gley soils occupy much less area. The article provides data on botanical composition of peat and peat thickness for the basic systematic units of peat soils. Podzols are formed on sand and sandy loam sediments, while gley soils are on loam ones. The article presents information on the most typical features of morphology of the mineral soils in the Numto Park.
